Overview

Jason Tonioli (born 1979), is an American pianist, composer, and serial entrepreneur whose music has been streamed over 200 million times worldwide. A 2 Comma Club (Clickfunnels $1+Million Funnel) award winner and Modern Musician Platinum Artist award recipient, Tonioli has built multiple successful businesses across music, travel, and technology industries. He was nominated Whispering Piano’s Artist and Album of the Year Award and for the 2025 SoloPiano.com Christian Piano Album of the Year. He was also featured in Classical Crossover Magazine in 2024. He graduated in 2002 with a Bachelors Degree from Weber State University, and received advanced certifications from the American Bankers Association and Pacific Coast Banking School & Bank Marketing School at Northwestern University.

Jason was classically trained and began arranging and writing New Age Music for piano while in high school and while in his 20s developed his own unique style of classical crossover that has blended classical, pop, rock and roll and traditional. He is best known for his arrangements of traditional Christian Hymns. 

His music has been streamed over 200 Million times on Pandora, iTunes, Spotify, Amazon Music, YouTube, Google and other streaming music services. This achievement, combined with his Modern Musician Platinum Artist award, establishes him as one of the most successful independent piano artists in the digital streaming era.

He has a unique skillset of being both a musician and business minded person, what he calls ‘The Harmony Method’ – harmonizing creativity with systematic business thinking. You’ll find him in his happy place working on spreadsheets and marketing campaigns as well as sitting behind a piano writing out the newest tune that has come into his head.

 

Through his portfolio companies Traffic Growth Pros and Successful Musicians, along with his recording studio, he has worked with, coached and mentored dozens of musicians, helping them master not only recording but the critical business side of music marketing. His musician coaching includes a mastermind group and online education courses designed to help creative artists build sustainable, profitable music careers.

During his banking career, he was best known for his vision in creating simple processes and building and working with teams of people to develop tools, software and training in CRM, Marketing, Compliance and Sales Technology.

Musical Style

Tonioli is most well known for his original compositions and work in adapting religious hymns and traditional Christmas Carols. His works are classified as New Age, Christian, or Classical. 

He cites influences to his music as Yanni, Enya, Jim Brickman, Jon Schmidt (The Piano Guys), Rolf Løvland and Paul Cardall.

Musical Career

Tonioli has recorded his albums at his home Studio and at Big Idea Studio in Sandy, Utah with the help of chuck e. myers “sea” and Jake Bowen who are well known for composing and producing video game music Harry Potter Hogwart’s Legacy, Fortnite, Twisted Metal, Disney Infinity Volumes 1,2 & 3, Star Wars 8 Video Game soundtrack, Toy Story 2 & 3 Video Game soundtracks, Cars 2 & 3 Video Game Soundtracks, Evermore Park Soundtrack as well as Jon Schmidt/Piano Guys.

Jason has self published more than 20 piano solo books. His music has been streamed hundreds of millions of times and he has sold hundreds of thousands of piano music books. 

He has also provided music for TV documentaries as well as many other online video productions.

Though he is typically known for his solo piano work, Tonioli has collaborated with Violinist John Knudson, Sadie Armstrong, Ryan Shupe from Ryan Shupe and the Rubberband, CaraNua, a group composed of 2 of the former Celtic Woman, lead singers Alex Sharpe, and Lynn Hilary lead vocalist from Riverdance and Edel Murphy, and Lisa Nolan to produce an album of hymn arrangements that feature their vocals, fully orchestrated by chuck e. myers “sea” with his arrangements. 

Tonioli has also been featured as the pianist for live performances with CaraNua, and provided the music and arrangements for a number of their songs. He also collaborated with them and producer Chuck e. Meyers to create the Soundtrack of Evermore Park

He has shared the stage over the years with notable artists including  Alex Sharpe, Lynn Hilary, Jon Schmidt, GENTRI, Paul Cardall, Glenn Rawson, Jesse Clarke Funk, Máiréad Nesbitt, One Voice Children’s Choir, Wayne Burton, Michele McLaughlin, Brenda Burch, John Knudson, CaraNua. His music has been performed with the Salt Lake Symphony, Utah Voices Choir and many more prestigious ensembles. As a multi-year guest artist for FM100.3’s annual Christmas performances, he has established himself as a sought after performer in the classical crossover and new age piano genres. 

In 2018 he collaborated with violinist John Knudson to release an album of original music titled “Finding Peace”. The album was launched on Sept 22, 2018 with a concert at the base of the Logan, Utah temple behind a full moon. This was a first of its kind event using the iconic hillside and structure as a backdrop for their performance. 

In 2019 he released his tenth full length piano album and companion music book titled Piano Reflections

In 2023 his album Songs for Peace was nominated as a finalist for album of the year with Whispering Piano, which focuses exclusively on solo piano albums.

His 2024 Album Peaceful Piano Hymns was nominated as Christian Piano Album of the year by SoloPiano.com, further cementing his reputation as a leading voice in contemporary Christian and inspirational piano music.

In 2025 he released his Healing Piano Solos album, a 3-year project to create piano music that would help heal and comfort people.

Business Career

Tonioli worked for 12 years as a marketing manager and marketing director for Bank of Utah until 2012. While working at the bank he helped coach a team of over 30 mortgage originators and 20+ business bankers and helped develop several software tools used to help sales and marketing teams. He helped develop new sales technology for frontline and relationship account managers, and helped develop bank profitability modeling software. He was instrumental in the development of CRM software that is used at hundreds of banks and Credit Unions throughout the United States.

While at the bank he volunteered for over 8 years and as chairman for Enable Utah, a non-profit organization that provides employment and job skills training to approximately 300 people with disabilities each year. 

He also served for more than 5 years as a member of the Certified Financial Marketing Professional (CFMP) certification team which was in charge of writing and managing the test used to qualify and educate top marketing professionals in the banking industry. 

In 2012 he chose to leave Bank of Utah and founded and led the banking software SAAS company Kadince which provides marketing and compliance software that helps banks and credit unions manage their corporate giving and volunteer efforts.

In July of 2017, Tonioli exited his software company Kadince and joined efforts with Chuck e. Myers “sea” to launch the record label, Aingeal Music Worldwide, LLC. Aingeal Music is the Irish/Gaelic spelling of the word Angel. Later that year they signed the musical group CaraNua to a record deal, demonstrating his ability to identify and develop talent in the music industry. 

In 2018 he launched a travel services companies “Amazing Vacations USA” and Amazing Vacations Costa Rica, for families and groups traveling to Costa Rica and destinations worldwide. The travel businesses have grown to serve hundreds of travelers, focusing on custom full-service and all-inclusive vacations for special interest groups. Amazing Vacations Costa Rica operates with a focus on adventure, authentic experiences and fair compensation for team members. Currently, Tonioli is helping develop a resort property in Costa Rica, expanding his vision of creating amazing travel experiences through systematic hospitality excellence.

In 2019 he helped long time friend Glenn Rawson, launch GlennRawsonStories.com which provides weekly inspirational stories for free each week online via YouTube and Facebook. He helped co-author 2 books titled Stories of the Hymns Volume 1 and 2 that have sold nearly 50,000 copies.

Jason continues to focus his time on growing his teams and businesses while sharing his talents in music and business mentorship. Through The Harmony Method philosophy, he helps creative entrepreneurs harmonize their artistic gifts with systematic business thinking. His favorite part of working is developing and mentoring people, particularly musicians through his Successful Musicians mastermind and coaching programs, giving others the opportunity to make a difference in the world. He believes that amazing results happen when creativity meets disciplined systems, a principle he applies across all his ventures from music composition to resort development.

Family

Jason is married to Stacy Anderson Tonioli, a well known school teacher in Hooper and West Haven, Utah. They have four amazing children and one dog.

Their kids are active in many sports including soccer, volleyball, tumbling and cheer. Jason has coached soccer teams for more than 14 years. He has received his UYSA Soccer D License and helped coach many competition and premier level soccer teams over the years, traveling as far as Orlando for tournaments.
